Ron and Rose arrived as missionaries to Zihua / Ixtapa in September of 2002. Ron is the full time pastor / teacher at ICF. They serve the community in both Spanish and English ministries. ICF is a warm, friendly fellowship of believers where Jesus Christ is proclaimed as The Way, The Truth and The Life. All are welcome to come and learn of the Living water where we pray your souls will find rest and Life!.
ICF's income comes through tithes, offering and gifts. As a result of the gracious and generous response of God's people to this work, ICF gives regular financial support to two local missionaries/pastors and one seminary student at the local Baptist seminary and regular support to the Bet Shalom Home for "at risk" seniors, http://www.bet-shalom-hmam.com/ in the Ixtapa / Zihuatanejo area. ICF also manages a fund for short term medical needs of the most needy. The vast majority of our funds received will continue to be returned to the poor in our community both in response to emergencies / disasters and in regular gifts.
We had a great season last year and were able to distribute about 150 baby bundles. As we look forward to the upcoming season I would like to suggest some things that you may be willing to donate to our cause. We are in need of Spanish New Testaments. Even just a few is fine as you may deal with weight issues on the airplane. Adult multivitamins are always needed as we put 100 tablets in each bundle. With that too, even if you only can bring one or two bottles, every little bit helps.
Baby Bundles Items Needed
Receiving blankets.
Onesies Size 1-3 months
Bibles ( new testament small)
Disposable newborn diapers
Tooth brush med
Tooth paste small
Small soap (hotel size is fine )
Shampoo (hotel size)
Lotion (hotel size)
Baby soap
Baby newborn caps
Multivitamins suitable for pre or post pregnancy
We could use more receiving blankets. If you want to bring 5 yards of flannel, I am happy to sew them into 4 blankets. Small hotel body lotions are great. Toothpaste and toothbrushes can be purchased in Zihuatanejo or at your home town if you want to carry them down. Diapers are always needed and those are usually purchased locally but If you wish to bring some newborn diapers that is great. We use a baby bar soap but I usually buy that in Zihuatanejo unless you can find it in your home area. Any financial donation is appreciated and will be used to purchase items locally. Thanks for all your help. Joyce
